SUPERIOR Titanium-coated MICROTEX Needle 60/8. For ALL Home Machines (including Bernina)


Titanium-coated needles have been available for longarm and industrial machines for many years, but these are the first titanium-coated MICROTEX style needles made for home machines.


Superior Threads (USA) and Organ Needle Company (Japan) have applied the latest technology of titanium-coated needles to the Topstitch style for home machines.

The Microtex needles has a very slim acute point for easier piecing of very fine or densely woven fabrics and an ultra thin coat of titanium nitride layered on the surface to extend their productive life by five to eight times that of conventional needles.

Most professionals recommend changing the needle every project or, if you count, every 8 hours. Imagine having a needle that will last 40 to 60 hours. This is equivalent to saving 80% on the cost of needles.

Another advantage and possibly the most important advantage is to do with prevention of thread breakages.

Some machine embroiderers find that even when using high quality threads they experience the thread snapping or shredding. The usual advice given is to ‘change the needle’ and usually it works. However, if you understand why you change the needle, the advice makes much more sense.

Whilst in use a machine thread runs through the eye of the needle very fast, creating a groove which is unique to that thread. As each type of thread has it’s own unique weight and twist, when you change to a different type of thread the groove in the eye of the needle does not match the thread and trouble ensues.

The best needles come in neat plastic boxes and if you stick a label across the box you can note which needle you used for which thread, keep a separate needle for each type (Not colour!) of thread that you use. Taking the extra few seconds to change to it’s special needle will make life much easier!!

Why mention it on a listing for titanium needles? Well the titanium coating is tough, so tough that it resists the thread as it runs through the needle and no groove is created in the eye. This means that you can put the needle into your machine for over 40 hours and just leave it there running any thread through it. This needle is sometimes known as the Magic needle, it really is a revolution in needle technology and I cannot recommend them enough.

Barnyarns Trade is based in the United Kingdom and our working days are Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays. If you are shopping from outside the United Kingdom, postage rates can be seen at checkout once you have Registered on the site. UK DPD Courier

'DPD Express Service' deliveries are despatched via DPD and will require a signature on receipt. DPD orders will be fast-tracked, for despatch on the same working day (subject to stock availability) for delivery on the next working day. (Excludes Saturday Delivery, for UK mainland customers only) Orders must be received before 11.00am.

If stock is not immediately available you will be contacted via email and the goods sent 'DPD' at the earliest opportunity 

For customers in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland, please use the Express service option for an enhanced delivery service. Due to limitations imposed by the couriers, we are unable to guarantee a 'next day' delivery but will speed up the despatch for the soonest possible delivery.

European & Worldwide Deliveries

Deliveries out of the UK to to Europe & the rest of the world are usually made by Airmail. This method of despatch is considered to be the quickest, simplest and cheapest shipping method.
 
 It is company policy to record all mail overseas to ensure that a signature is obtained. Where possible, we will forward goods via the Royal Mail Airsure Service which is a premium service that can be tracked throughout it's journey.
 
 Heavier items (Over 2kg) will be sent by courier.
 
 Charges for oversea despatches are based on the following formula
 
 Destination + weight of goods + Postage, packing & Insurance + The fee to record the goods.
